Professor Jacques Marescaux was awarded the distinction of Honorary Fellow of the American Surgical Association, at the 136th Annual Meeting of the American Surgical Association which took place in Chicago on April 14, 2016.
This Surgical Association, which was created in 1880, is the oldest and most prestigious one, and its members represent the elite of American surgery.
It is exceptional that this distinction is awarded to a foreign surgeon. It recognizes IRCAD’s pioneering work in the field of minimally invasive surgery and once more consolidates the international reputation of the Institute based in Strasbourg along with its 3 mirror institutes in Asia and Brazil.

We would like to draw your attention that the « Vaccine Pass » is now mandatory in France since end of January 2022 and replaces the former « Health Pass » to access places that are open to the public, such as cinemas, museums, cafés and restaurants, hotels as well as the IRCAD Institute which welcomes participants in the framework of its courses and seminars. Thus, a PCR test without vaccination is no longer sufficient to take part in our courses.
