Advanced gynecologic oncology surgery - a multidisciplinary approach

This course is designed to familiarize the gynecologic oncologist with techniques that are outside his specialty knowledge, with the participation of surgeons from different specialties.

They will be asked to convey the technical messages making safer extensive surgeries for the management of peritoneal carcinomatosis and recurrences.

The course will include lectures on anatomy, extended resections in all areas of the pelvis, abdominal cavity, thorax, perineum, and abdominal wall.

Emphasis will be made on the surgical culture required to extend the possibilities of surgery.

Course objectives

  • To teach gynecologic oncologists the surgical principles and skills required to safely perform complex out-of-the-box gynecologic oncology surgeries
  • To provide multidisciplinary contributions, incorporating the perspectives of other surgical specialists
  • To perform hands-on practice on anatomical specimens in order to shorten and secure the learning curve in clinical practice
  • To allow participants to actively interact with world-renowned experts
