Laparoscopy in Newborns, Infants & Children Advanced Course
Full immersion in Pediatric Surgery
At the end of the 1980s, pioneers in pediatric videosurgery demonstrated that all kinds
of malformations could be managed using laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, retroperitoneoscopy, subcutaneous videosurgery, videosurgery combined with endoluminal endoscopy, and robotic surgery.
And very quickly, we could add the description of the advantages we could have with these techniques.
During the same period, we had to convince colleagues and families that many benefits could be obtained for our patients and conclusions could be drawn with the iterative paradigm “This new minimally invasive approach is safe and feasible”. During an IRCAD course, participants have the opportunity to learn, share, ask questions, improve technical skills, meet experts and colleagues, and compare various experiences.
