Laparoscopy in Newborns, Infants & Children Advanced Course

Full immersion in pediatric surgery

Minimally invasive surgery has come a long way since the 1980s, when pioneers first started demonstrating that all types of malformations could be managed
using laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, retroperitoneoscopy, subcutaneous videosurgery, videosurgery combined
with endoluminal endoscopy, and robotic surgery. Today it has become undeniable that minimally invasive surgery is, without a doubt, feasible and safe.

For 17 years now we have been alternating between a visceral thoracic neonatal surgery course and urological surgery course, every 2 years.

In 2023, IRCAD Strasbourg will schedule again a visceral thoracic neonatal surgery course which is a more general approach to pediatric surgery. Interactive theoretical training and video sessions combined with hands-on training on live tissue under expert tutorial in the experimental lab will provide course participants the tools they require to improve their skills.
