IRCAD is celebrating the launch of @WHO’s Global Strategy to Eliminate #CervicalCancer!
Yesterday, the Institute lit up in the colors of the fight against cervical cancer. In France, every year, 3,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer and 1,000 women die from this disease. However, its eradication is within everyone’s reach and surgery should not even be mentioned because cervical cancer is preventable, thanks to vaccination and screening.
This is why the WHO has launched a strategy to eliminate cervical cancer in 2020, involving 194 countries worldwide. This year, to represent France, after the City of Paris in 2020, the WHO has chosen the IRCAD, identified for its strong commitment in the fight against cancer.
