36690€ were collected by the IRCAD (Research Institute Against Digestive Cancers) on Thursday, May 24, 2012 during the wine auction which took place at the Hilton Hotel lounges in Strasbourg.
All 139 batches (more than 670 bottles) auctioned by notary Christian Grieneisen, and presented by the “Au Crocodile” restaurant’s wine steward Gilbert Mestrallet, and wine salesman Roger Bahl, were successfully sold.
The highest bid was placed for a Pauillac 1975 Impériale Mouton Rothschild, auctioned at 1800€ and sold at the price of 3500€.
Amongst the bids to be noted were the following: 1 bottle of Pauillac 1986 Château Lafite Rothschild, which came at the price of 280€ and was sold at the price of 610€, 12 bottles of Margaux 2007 Pavillon Rouge de Château Margaux, put on auction at 480€ and sold at 1500€, 1 Pauillac 1999 Château Batailley magnum auctioned at 80€ and sold at 320€.
All batches were sold following a series of bids, as bottle prices were purposely set 30% below their actual price.
The profit made at this auction will be used for cancer research, and more particularly for the IRCAD’s computer sciences and robotics research and development department, which develops computer programs applied to surgical planning and simulation.
One should note that the IRCAD’s 2009 wine auction generated a 34335€ profit.

We would like to draw your attention that the « Vaccine Pass » is now mandatory in France since end of January 2022 and replaces the former « Health Pass » to access places that are open to the public, such as cinemas, museums, cafés and restaurants, hotels as well as the IRCAD Institute which welcomes participants in the framework of its courses and seminars.
