The IRCAD celebrated its 20th birthday at the “Brasserie des Haras” with great fanfare and music on July 12, 2014. The party was a true success and unravelled on the theme of “One world, 3 IRCADs”.
Professor Jacques Marescaux welcomed 300 guests, political figures, Taiwanese and Brazilian counterparts, industrial partners, IRCAD international experts, and long-lasting faithful IRCAD supporters who have all been entertained to a festive evening. The cultures of 3 countries were represented during that evening, France, Taiwan, and Brazil: a fanfare for the welcome cocktail, unicorns from Taiwan, a Taiwanese singer accompanied by a string quartet, Brazilian percussion, Brazilian dancers and Capoeira artists, and to crown it all, a saxophone quintet and a rocker on piano.
A delegation of more than 25 Taiwan representatives including a minister, took part in the evening under the leadership of President Min-Ho Huang, Chairman of IRCAD Taiwan.
Henrique Prata, Chairman of IRCAD America Latina, had every reason to rejoice in celebrating 20 years of innovation and research for patient care with the IRCAD family.
The buffets prepared by chefs Marc Haeberlin and François Baur offered exquisite dishes from the 3 continents.
To end the evening in beauty, Jacques Marescaux symbolically cut the giant birthday cake along with IRCAD international and industrial partners, under the benevolent eye of the kitchen brigade of the “Brasserie des Haras”.
